ORGANIC Alfalfa Leaf
Alfalfa

Other Names:  Lucerne, Medicago Sativa

Alfalfa has been used in China as a diuretic and to treat kidney stones; as a laxative and also as a detoxification agent.   It is documented that consuming large quantities can lead to blood abnormalities and developing Lupus in humans.

Discovered as a food for horses by the Arabs, Alfalfa continued to be used in animal feed for many generations to come, which might explain why it is attributed to having Anti-Hunger properties.

Curious that many gamblers will put Alfalfa in their pockets or carry it on them when they go to the racetrack because they believe that it will entice good luck for their horse to win.  From the horse, to the cart... it is unknown whether this started a trend with  business and homeowners to carry alfalfa on them or put it across the threshold or under the carpet to attract good fortune and money.

Anyone with grass or ragweed allergies should avoid contact with Alfalfa.
